The TurboFlare Helicopter Landing Zone kit includes four red TurboFlares and one blue TurboFlare for wind direction in a convenient carrying case. TurboFlares are highly visible and ideal for marking emergency landing zones. They can be seen from 22,000 ft altitute and 20-25 miles away. TurboFlares are designed to be unaffected by helicopter prop wash and stay where they are deployed for the safety of the crew and for the protection of the helicopter. (See video).
TurboFlare Emergency Electronic Flares have no moving parts and ultra bright LEDs that last up to 100,000 hours. The strongest, safest, smartest, brightest, earlier warning and the only 24 hour electronic emergency road flare! The toughest emergency road flares in the world! All TurboFlare products are rohas compliant (lead free), weatherproof (waterproof o-ring seal keeps moisture out of device) and safe for the environment. The TurboFlare(TM) SOS is battery powered for over 150 hours of continuous usage. Can be used, unlike incendiary road flares, when the smell of gasoline or oil (flammable products) are present. 3-Year warranty on material and workmanship.
Why use electronic emergency flares? Virtually every chemical which makes up the standard incendiary road flare is listed as a hazardous substance. They are dangerous to both personnel and the environment. Additionally, incendiary flares frequently cause painful skin burns, burn holes in expensive uniforms and cause breathing problems. Incendiary flares cannot be used at traffic accident scenes when the smell of fuel is present or in high-wind conditions. TurboFlare eliminates these problems and saves departments thousands of dollars.
Help save our environment. Many of the incendiary flares on the market contain strontium nitrate, potassium perchlorate or potassium nitrate for fast combustion and flame color. Other ingredients include fuels or a combination of fuel and binder. The chemicals above are water soluable. Every flare left on the road will eventually leach these chemicals into our water. For example, it is estimated one unused road flare on the side of a highway is enough to contaminate more than 300,000 gallons of water with perchlorate to a level above 6 parts per billion, the public health benchmark in California. In addition, when strontium nitrate is burned, it produces strontium oxide and relases toxic nitrogen dioxide gas, one of the most prominent air pollutents and poison by inhalation. So, you can feel good that you are saving the environment while saving money by using a product that can be used over and over again.
